As suspected my summer of non-working has been fantastic. I couldn't bring myself to blog or Twitter my first week because every post would have been too annoyingly happy. For the first time in years I have been able to sleep well and I am eating better too. All my problems I was trying to solve by drinking nasty chinese herbal teas have suddenly disappeared now that I actually have time to get everything done I need to accomplish. When life is good for Mom, life is good for everyone.
Here's a glimpse of some activities.
Karsten got a fancy new bike! And it turns out...

...If you give an extrovert a bike... he's going to want to visit the neighbors. And if he visits the neighbors he might start telling some tall tales. Like how his parents are in San Francisco and how he is babysitting his sister and that he made her a grilled cheese sandwich for dinner. (Luckily the neighbors had seen the night before and knew not to call CPS.)
Britta has been riding her bike too now that her brother is in to it. She is almost ready for the training wheels to come off.
The kids have been taking swimming lessons.
One kids LOVES lessons and swimming.
The other kid... not so much. Score 1 for Mom. Britta is in the pool.
Score 1 for Britta. Britta bolts from swimming lessons when given the opportunity.
Score 2 for Britta. Britta hides under the chair from me when I want her to put her swimsuit on to take her to lessons. I didn't know such a cute girl could make a troll face like this.
So far Britta is ahead. I have two days next week I can get her to the pool before I head off to Europe. (Yes!) Not sure if I'll be able to get her in the pool those days but I'm going to try.
Did I mention life is good? Life is very good.
